Re: disposal of "lead" protective aprons (as used in med

I send our lead pigs to Medi-Ray Ince, 150 Marbledale Road, Tuckahoe, NY
10707. We have been doing this for about 5 years. They sent us the boxes
and even the tape to strap it shut. The pigs have to be surveyed and
defaced. It is part of the NEN recycling program. It is a little pricy to
send them, but I alway send them UPS ground .

I went to a recycler to see if they would except them. The vendor extracted
the plastic container from the lead. He said it would cost him more to do
the extraction process then it would be to recycle the lead so he would not
except them that way.

If you need any more information e-mail me.
