Re: HP Degrees

Lakeshore Technical College is one of the three programs no longer
accepting incoming students due to the lack of individuals coming into the
program. However, we are working on constructing an apprentice type
program where individuals working in the field can gain the experience and
the knowledge needed to be a qualified technician. Presently, we have 11
credits available in a CD/Internet format that allows students to obtain
the classroom portion of their education at their location and at their
pace. The lab work must be completed at the place of employment or by
coming to the college. I think all health physics programs are having a
difficult time recruiting new students for various reasons. One reason is
NOT because of the lack of career opportunities. Without being flexible in
delivery format the number of qualified individuals will continue to
decrease.
