GTS Duratek has the following opportunity for a Radiological Engineer at its Los Alamos field office.

Responsibilities:

In support of facility decommissioning projects, develop radiological and chemical characterization plans, sampling plans, health and safety plans, operating procedures, and project documents.

In support of facility decommissioning and radioactive waste management projects, lead field sampling and characterization activities in compliance with the Department of Energy (DOE) and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) requirements.

Perform radiological engineering tasks including the construction of basic MicroShield models, review of gamma spectroscopy and radiological sample analysis results, and investigation of regulatory/DOE Order requirements.

Prepare shipping manifests and associated paperwork for radioactive and hazardous material shipments from LANL to GTS Duratek.

Support the preparation of proposals for characterization, staff support, decontamination and decommissioning (D&D) and waste-related work at DOE sites including LANL, Sandia National Laboratories, Lawrence Livermore, and Pantex.

Requirements:

10 or more years work experience with radioactive and hazardous materials.

Ability to obtain a DOE *L* or *Q* clearance.

Demonstrated excellence with inter-personal and written communication skills.

Education:

Associates of Science (A.S.) degree or higher in technical field is required.
