Irradiation of Meat and Meat Products

AGENCY: Food Safety and Inspection Service, USDA.

ACTION: Notice; reopening of comment period.

SUMMARY: The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is reopening the 
comment period for the proposed rulemaking, ``Irradiation of Meat and 
Meat Products,'' which closed on April 26, 1999, in response to the 
great interest in this proposal. (64 FR 9089, February 24, 1999). The 
comment period will be reopened to include comments received from April 
27, 1999, until 15 days after the date of publication of this notice.

DATES: Comments must be received on or before June 17, 1999.
