Re: Ginseng as Radiation Exposure Protection

Leon,

I think what they mean by .."to protect against the effects of radiation
exposure..." that Ginseng increases the metabolic rate. So basically reducing
the biological half life.
While I was at Chernobyl, we used all kind of stuff: Ginseng, buckwheat, "sea
cabbage"
Red wine, vodka..... The vodka was the most popular one, for more than one
reason of course.

may find interesting, if not amusing.

A fairly large Northern Michigan grocery chain sent out the usual sales flyers
this past weekend. The flyer contained an add for Spartan brand Ginseng.
Included in the add was the following statement promoting the use of Ginseng:
"Ginseng is useful for bronchitis, circulatory problems, diabetes,
infertility,
lack of energy, stress and to protect against the effects of radiation
exposure."

I personally use a Ginseng product for my own private reasons but had no idea
that, as a radiation protection professional, I should be promoting its use
for
protection against the effects of radiation exposure. Comments?
