RECIPROCAL INTERNAL AUDITS

RECIPROCAL INTERNAL AUDITS

Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland currently holds two US Nuclear Regulatory Commission byproduct material licenses. One is a Type A-Broadscope and the other is for an irradiation facility using up to 9,999 Curies of Cobalt-60. All previous Radiation Protection Program audits at this Center have been accomplished "in-house" by the assigned Radiation Protection Officer.

To get a fresh perspective on our Program, we would like to propose that a one-day personnel exchange be arranged with a local licensee (NRC or Agreement State) to perform an internal security audit as it relates to our licenses.

If there are any licensees in the Washington-Metropolitan Area who would like to discuss such a project, please call our GSFC Radiation Protection Officer, Steve Giebel, at 301-286-8482.
