Subject: Summer Meeting STC-HPS
The Summer Meeting of the South Texas Chapter, Health Physics Society
will be held Sat, 08/28/99, in Corpus Christi. The theme of the
meeting will be "Radioactive Waste Management in Texas." The program
includes presentations from Waste Control Specialists, Envirocare of
Texas, UTHouston-HSC, TDH-Bureau of Radiation Control, Texas Natural
Resource Conservation Commission and Texas Low-Level Radioactive
Waste Disposal Authority. There, also, will be a luncheon presenta-
tion by The Honorable Warren Chisum, Chair, Texas House of Repre-
sentatives (discussing topics affecting radiation regulation and
radioactive waste disposal in Texas). A block of rooms has been
reserved at Ramada Inn Bayfront [(361) 882-8100 for Fri, 08/27/99,
and Sat, 08/28/99, until 08/13/99, under the name "South Texas
Chapter Health Physics Society." Room rates will be $70 per night,
sgl or dbl occupancy. Pre-registration fees: STC Member (tech
session and lunch) - $30; STC Member (tech session only) - $15;
Non-STC Member (tech session and lunch) - $35; Non-STC Member (tech
session only) - $20; Student not giving a presentation (tech session
& lunch) - $10. Add $10 for walk-in registrations. Mail registra-
tion forms & checks (made payable to STC-HPS) to arrive before
