RE: BEIR VII Committee - an obviously effective letter
I have just posted the following on the BEIR VII comment page:
"Please do your best to ignore the "grassroots" letter from NIRS and
associated organizations regarding the BEIR VII committee. It is the same
old anti-nuke junk they have been peddling for years, and is what drove me,
personally, from the anti-nuke camp (I actually was interviewed for a
position by NIRS once). It doesn't matter how many people signed the
letter. Most of the signers don't know much about dose-response curves,
ionizing radiation, etc. Having started letter campaigns myself, I can tell
you that it doesn't take much to get a lot of signatures, and I can also
testify that refusing to sign can lead to a fair amount of nasty retributive
stuff."
Clearly only my own opinion
