Re: Need help with gamma spec spectrum. -Reply -Reply



I remember of one "peak" (?), extremely broad and flat top when measuring
prompt gammas in boron samples with a Am/be source. As far as I can
remember, a carbon excited state was formed (C 11 ?) which has a very long
lifetime thus resulting in doppler broadened peaks. Very spectacular...
Don't know if this may help in the present case but it is a nice experiment
for students in nuclear physics ...
