Kim,

While one form of "meditation" or another (like the Rosary, for
instance) may be inextricably intertwined within a particular religion
does not mean that Qigong is a religion in and of itself.  It is
discussed as a form of meditation and healing ("an art") in many
secular publications ... like the latest fitness magazine I received.

The subject never strayed into Taoism or any other religious topic,
until you raised the issue.
