Health Physicist positions available

Bechtel, an international engineering, environmental, and construction
company is seeking Senior Health Physicists in Richland, Washington in
support of the Hanford Environmental Restoration Project. These five
positions; three within Radiological Field Engineering, and one each in
Compliance & Support and Radiological Measurements & Environmental Support,
are within the Radiological Control Organization as detailed below:

Health Physics Specialist / Grade 26

This individual will be responsible for radiological interface to
Environmental Restoration Contractor (ERC) projects, functional Radiological
Controls organization and regulators.  The primary areas of responsibility
are:
*	Radiological work planning, including ALARA
*	Develop technical work documents in support of projects
*	Oversight of work implementation 
*	Input to and review of Radiological Work Permits (RWPs)

As our ideal candidate, you will have a BS degree in Health Physics,
Radiological Science, a closely related field, or an equivalent combination
of education, training and experience, plus the following:
*	Twelve years of experience in application of radiological
protection/health physics
*	An understanding of regulatory requirements applicable to conduct of
radiological control programs
*	Certification by the ABHP or progression toward CHP is preferred 
*	Must be able to meet the applicable Hanford Site access/badging
requirements

Senior Health Physics Representative / Grade 25

This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day interface between the
Environmental Restoration Contractor (ERC) and other client projects and the
ERC Radiological Controls program.  The primary areas of responsibility are:
*	 Assist project team members with the preparation of work packages
to ensure appropriate radiological controls are implemented.
*	Responsible for the preparation of various technical reports to
support implementation of the radiological controls program.
*	Responsible to the client projects by identifying the Bechtel
Hanford, Inc. (BHI) resource requirements necessary to support upcoming
project work activities.
*	Responsible to provide technical health physics support to assigned
ERC and/or client project staffs.

As our ideal candidate, you will have a BS degree in Health Physics, Nuclear
Engineering, Nuclear Technology, Radiation Protection or related science or
engineering discipline, or a combination of training and/or experience, plus
the following:
*	Minimum of 10 years professional experience in operational
radiological control field experience is required
*	Experience in planning radiological work is desired
*	National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists (NRRPT) or
certification by the American Board of Health Physics (ABHP) is preferred
*	Knowledge of 10CFR835 and the Department of Energy Radiological
Controls Manual is preferred
*	Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
*	Must be able to enter radiological areas and must demonstrate the
ability to access all locations including unimproved remote areas
*	Must be able to meet the requirements to be a hazardous waste worker
*	Must be able to meet the applicable Hanford Site access/badging
requirements

Sr. Health Physicist / Grade 26

The individual will provide technical and programmatic support for
development and maintenance of the Environmental Restoration Contractor
(ERC) Radiological Instrumentation Program, including programmatic elements
in the following instrumentation areas:
*	Contamination control monitoring	
*	Air sampling/monitoring
*	Calibration and maintenance
*	Evaluation of field/project needs
*	In-situ measurements
*	Radioactive source control

As our ideal candidate, you will have a Bachelor's degree in Health Physics,
Radiological Science, a closely related science field, or a combination of
equivalent education and relevant experience plus experience in the
following areas:
*	Minimum of nine years field experience in applied health
physics/radiological protection 
*	Minimum of three years experience in development, oversight, or
maintenance of an active Radiological Instrumentation Program 
*	Certification by the ABHP, or progression toward CHP  
*	Understanding of regulatory requirements applicable to conduct of
radiological control programs and a technical understanding of radiological
survey instruments, including air samplers/monitors and personnel
contamination monitors   
*	Must be able to meet Hanford Site Access/Badging Requirements

Senior Health Physicist / Grade 26 

This individual will provide technical and programmatic support for
development, maintenance, and implementation of the BHI Radiological Control
Program, with specific focus in the areas of:

*	Contamination and exposure controls
*	Airborne activity concerns
*	Radiological posting and access controls
*	Radiological work controls and planning
*	Radioactive material control
*	Personnel exposure monitoring

As our ideal candidate, you will have a BS degree in Health Physics,
Radiological Science, a closely related field, or an equivalent combination
of education, training and experience, plus
the following:

*	Twelve years of experience in application of radiological
protection/health physics with at least three years experience in
programmatic development, oversight, and maintenance of an Radiological
Control Program  
*	Must have an understanding of regulatory requirements applicable to
conduct of radiological control programs; a technical understanding of
personnel internal and external dosimetry (including associated dose
calculations) 
*	Certification by the ABHP, or progression toward CHP is strongly
desired  
*	Must be able to meet Hanford Site Access/Badging requirements
