Re: SHIPPING RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS
When choosing a course, and there are many good ones out there, please be
sure the instructor understands the knowledge level of the students. DO NOT
send a first time student to a class dominated by seasoned shippers. The
instructor may tend to increase the pace so as not to bore the majority of
students.
It is a little more costly but I have found the following to work best:
About a month of hands-on, supervised shipping experience.
Attend a four day class with mostly first-timers.
10 to 12 months of hands on shipping.
Attend another class with more experienced shippers.
Some that teach courses, in addition to Chem-Nuclear:
Charles Smith with Applied Radiation Management (arminc01@aol.com)
Walt Hipsher with T3 (wshj.hipsher@worldnet.att.net)
WMG, Inc., (web site at wmginc.com)
Mike Alt with US Ecology (address escapes me)
With any of these, please make sure the student knowledge level matches the
class.
