Snoopy-- unfamiliar with jargon

======== Original Message ========
Hi

What is a "snoopy"? I am unfamiliar with this jargon. What kind of
neutron detector is it, and who makes them?

Thanks

Kim.

The SNOOPY is a dose equivalent neutron survey meter, also called a
Andersson-Braun remmeter. The military designation for this meter is
AN/PDR-70. The detector is a BF3 tube located in the center of a borated
polyethylene cylinder 9 inches in diameter and 9 inches long. It is capable
of measuring neutrons between thermal and 15 MeV energies with four linear
ranges of 2, 20, 200, and 2000 mrem/hr full scale. The unit, with its
electronic package, weighs 25 pounds.
