I agree with Elizabeth that each of us should write to U. S. News & World
Report politely expressing dismay (as a radiation safety expert) concerning
the serious mistakes and alarmist elements in the article "Radioactive
fork, dear?" by Bruce B. Auster on page 35 of the September 20, 1999,
issue. This tabloid-style reporting will negatively affect the reputation
of U.S. News.
