As someone who's been there 'n done that with big media, it looks
like the lamb is leading itself to slaughter. You really should
take to heart what others have said about the media not being
interested in the story but in the sensationalism. It's really
worse than that. Reporters, particularly those who have bubbled to
the top of the dung pile, tend to hold the "truth" in contempt. The
most important bit of advice I could give you is forget talking to
the media yourself. Hire a PR Flack who is skilled and experienced
in dealing with this critter. If you think you can do it yourself
and get out the message you want, I suggest that you find some
archival tape of the early press conferences at TMI when Herbine and
Co were made utter fools of. Having worked for Mr. Herbine, I can
tell you that his is articulate, educated and a good leader. None
of that was evident on TV. My prediction is that the "message" will
be "Airlines conspire with the FAA to conceal grave radiation hazard
to OUR CHILDREN!."

Not particularly. My wife would have rolled her eyes like she does
any time I talk about anything technical.
