Holding a protest on a golf course? I am outraged. What a tremendous waste
of land. We spend so much money on golf courses when there are people
living in the streets. This land could be put to better use. How about
public housing?  <<<

Actually, the outrage should probably come from the fact that Golf courses are probably one of the most contaminated areas available for public exposure to a brew of hazardous substances. Pesticides that are banned for almost any other use in the US are routinely used on golf courses. This includes mercury based fungicides on greens and fairways to insecticides that are prohibited for use with any crop and consumer turf product. There is a good chance that any older golf course would fail a phase one study for a housing project based on past chemical application and residuals.

As an aside, who and what are these "world famous" chefs and restruants listed? I've even been out to Lost Wages a couple of times and don't remember hearing of them.
