Natural Radioactivity in Brazil ?

Radsafers,

I'm looking for information on radiological hazards in a region called Minais
Gerais (sp?) in Brazil.  A collegue will be traveling to this area and is
interested in any radiological hazards, naturally occuring, (especially in the
soil).  She will be working with farmers and is wondering about any plant
uptake from the soil that would be higher than normal.  Thanks in advance !
