RE: Individual monitoring device question.
Shirley:
A short answer: Consult with your dosimetry provider to determine where the
badge is supposed to be worn. I know the default location for Landauer LUXEL
whole body badges is the chest area. It is designated as a P1, the "1"
meaning chest area. If we want one to wear on the waist, we need to specify
P14, I believe. Because this badge is not only determining whole body but
eye dose as well, I suggest wearing it outside the apron. This would be the
most conservative. If you want a separate dose estimate for organs covered
by the apron, you may want to wear two badges.
My suggestions only. Consult your dosimetry provider.

Individual monitoring device question.
When only one individual monitoring device is used to determine the
effective dose equivalent for external radiation, where is the most
appropriate place to were it? Wear it at neck outside of the protective
apron, or wear it under the protective apron at the waist?
