In the 60's we used to wash radiochemistry glassware in a dishwasher without 
cross contamination problems.  We used regular calgon dishwasher powder. 
About every 10th wash cycle we added a spot remover to minimize hard water 
deposits.  We were recently using a dishwasher until recently to wash rubber 
respirators with no cross contamination.
