RE: CRPA 2000, Montreal, CANADA

RADSAFERS,

As a member of the organizing committee for the annual meeting of the
Canadian Radiation Protection Association (CRPA) and also as a member of the
Health Physics Society and this radsafe list, I would like to publicize the
CRPA annual meeting that will be hosted in Montreal, from May 29 until May
31, 2000.

The theme is 1980-ALARA-2020, that is, what was ALARA twenty years ago, what
is ALARA and what will happen with ALARA 20 years from now. All related
information can be obtained via the CRPA web site:
http://www.safety.ubc.ca/crpa/index.htm

or by contacting CRPA Secretariat,

C/O Hannah Goedhard P.O. Box. 149, Kemptville, Ontario, K0G 1J0
tel: 613.258.9020 FAX:613.258.1336 , e-mail:goedhard@sympatico.ca

The conference is only 3 days but various topics are covered by numerous
experts that don't need much introduction (thank you for your presence this
year Dr. Cohen). From non-ionizing radiation safety to ionizing radiation
safety, you will find an impressive variety of information. Montreal is an
area where co-exist 4 major universities, affiliated hospitals and research
centers, major pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, and within 90
minutes, a nuclear power plant. We are sending the first call for papers and
we would love to see more HPS members. (We had the honor to welcome Mr.
Raymond H. Johnson in our 1999 meeting)

By the way, in May in Montreal, you can really say goodbye to snow and cold
weather !

Should you need more details , do not hesitate to contact me.

Regards,a la prochaine !
