The "kinetic" energy of the electron is always half the binding energy of
the n "orbit"(shell) which is a negative quantity... you can get the
"velocity" from this. However, since the electron is a wave the wavelength
of which is locked into the orbit, the wave(electron) really has no
"velocity", only a frequency and thus energy. However, the electron still
has mass and thus "kinetic" energy........ the irony of reality on the
atomic scale !
