Re: DSBs



The complexity of DSBs is certainly related to LET, with high LET
radiation causing more complex damage which is more difficult to repair.
For low LET radiation it seems that indirect effects are predominant.
Presumably free-radical induced lesions would be similar to those induced
by other agents. Nevertheless complex DSBs are produced even by low LET
radiations, so at least a fraction of all radiation-induced lesions is
potentially different from that induced by other means.
