When the scientific community, including health physicists, is spilt
with respect to what is safe and what is not, one can not fault the
public, the regulators or the lawmakers for doing what they think is
prudent. I am not implying that I am 100% one way or another with
respect to LNT, but one only needs to look at other industries, other
products and recognize that what was once considered safe is no
longer thought to be. If that is the case, then who is to say that
additional knowledge won't come to light that either supports LNT
totally, or partially, or dispels it entirely.

None of us really know, and anyone who has a strong opinion, either
way, has just that, an educated (and sometimes not) opinion. The
facts support either side of this argument.
