ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
As a senior technical staff member the radiological engineer (RE) exercises
independent judgment in the development, initiation, coordination and
implementation of large scale and cross-functional projects for the RCC
Radiological Control Program.  The RE identifies areas within the WCH
radiological control programs where "best in class" technical approaches are
needed and develops and guides solutions to these needs.

JOB RELATED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science degree in Health Physics, Radiological Science, a
closely related science field, with ten years professional experience with
demonstrated professional growth in Applied Health Physics/radiological
protection, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant
experience.  Experience in providing direct radiological engineering
support, program development, or oversight supporting implementation of an
active Decontamination and Decommissioning Program is required.

The qualified candidate must demonstrate strong technical skill and
expertise in multiple RadCon technical areas (e.g. air monitoring,
instrumentation, material release, characterization, work planning,
contamination control, engineering control, laboratory analysis).  Directly
applicable recent experience in health physics is required.  Experience must
be professional level and demonstrate clear progression toward positions of
greater responsibility.  Understanding of regulatory requirements applicable
to conduct of radiological control programs is required.  Must demonstrate
excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Certification by the American Board of Health Physics (ABHP) preferred.
Registration by the National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologist
preferred.
