Job Title: Health Physicist / Senior Health Physicist

Job Responsibilities
Function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Technical Radiation
Protection programs. Assigned program(s) may include the following:
personnel radiation exposure monitoring (internal/external dosimetry),
fetal protection/postnatal program, radiation detection instrumentation
including electronic dosimetry and remote monitoring applications,
radiological effluents and environmental monitoring (RETS/REMP),
radioactive material and waste packaging/shipping, unconditional release
standards, source term monitoring and control, respiratory protection,
corrective action program.
Incumbent is responsible for maintaining assigned programs in compliance
with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Effective
communication (both written and oral) is necessary.
Incumbent will receive and may provide radiation protection related
training, including preparation and delivery of lesson plans. Observe
and participate in classroom training activities. Participate in the
Emergency Planning (EP) organization, including duty rotations, scenario
development and program consultation. Subject to call out as required in
support of station requirements. Perform as a mentor and backup to other
members of the Technical RP group. Incumbent may backup the RP Technical
General Supervisor when needed.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years professional experience in radiation protection.
Understanding of plant operations and systems, demonstrated ability to
communicate and work effectively with all levels of plant personnel;
excellent computer skills; demonstrated oral and written communication
skills required; and an in-depth knowledge of radiation protection and
HP fundamentals is required.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Health Physics or related discipline is required.
Certifications/Licenses
Active certification by the American Board of Health Physics is
preferred.
Additional Information
Travel to support NMC objectives and act as a member of the emergency
response organization may be part of the requirements of this position.
Candidates must satisfy all Company and Nuclear Regulatory Commission
security requirements.
