Alan et al

I appreciate what you're saying, but one of the BIG differences is the cost
of liability insurance.

Some organization require VERY expensive insurance to even go on their
properties.

Is this something others hove found?

There is a HUGE difference in the pay between medical/academic and
commercial HP work.
I know I have worked both sides of the fence so to speak

The time I spent at a university/hospital was very very satisfying but I
was lured back to the dark side (commercial power) due to the difference
in pay.

I do miss those days very much, well except on pay day.

Wow ... I looked at the pay grades for Morningside and ... grade 16 ...
the highest listed ... is under 80k/year. That's over 35k/year less
than I made in 2005 ... and I live in Wisconsin. I must be way out of
the loop on what our profession pays.
