Diana Hart Manager, RP Technical Support Limerick Generating Station
Physicist IV Exelon Nuclear, the nation's largest operator of nuclear generating facilities, is currently looking for individuals interested in becoming a Health Physicist at our Limerick Generating Station, located in Pottstown, PA.
This is a full time permanent position. Relocation has been approved. Must live or move within range to be an active participant of the site Emergency Plan.
Accountable for ensuring the station is meeting all federal, state, and regulatory requirements in the areas of external and internal radiological exposures to individuals. This includes proper documentation and upkeep of lifetime exposure documents for workers.
Major Accountabilities:
1.Act as subject matter expert (SME) for assigned programs. SME is responsible for maintaining programs in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
2.Communicate with station management and other station departments with respect to radiation protection issues.
3.Receive and provide radiation protection related training, which includes preparing and delivering lesson plans. Observe and participate in classroom training activities.
4.Participate in Emergency Planning (EP) and duty rotations. Subject to call out as required in support of station requirements. Participate in EP scenario development.
5.Perform as mentor and backup to other members of the Technical RP group. Incumbent will backup the RP Technical Manager when needed.
Position Requirements:
Required:
4 year technical degree and minimum of 5 years HP related nuclear experience
OR 2 year technical degree and with a total of 7 years HP related nuclear experience
OR 3 years of Band 2 HP experience with a total of 9 years HP related nuclear experience
Thorough understanding of plant operations and systems
Demonstrated ability to communicate and work with all levels of plant personnel
Excellent computer skills
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills required
An in-depth knowledge of radiation protection and HP fundamentals is also required.
Preferred:
Masters Degree in Health Physics or equivalent
Certification by the American Board of Health Physics
