In fairness to Peter, he did preface that with "In Europe..." :-)
And there it would be a "Catch 22" (i.e.,, if you keep a gun at home you
are a lunatic by definition :-)
And of course, "in Europe" the governing principles are that citizens
remain under the control/authority/ownership of their
kings/governments/financial institutions, vs. the American
revolution/Declaration/Constitution to overturn those (colonial)
principles to put the citizens in charge of their governments, including
rights to defend themselves against their governments (despite the fact
that those principles are being substantially eroded over recent decades
:-).
