Open Position Notice

RADCON Program Coordinator (2TE08)

 

JOB SUMMARY:  Under the supervision of the Department Chair, the Radiological
Control Technician (RADCON) Program Coordinator/Instructor will lead in the
development, implementation and delivery of the RADCON program.  They will
develop, implement and teach curriculum materials in the Health Physics and
Radiological Control Technician area; organize and develop laboratory
facility; participate in academic advising and registration; maintain office
hours; participate in committee assignments and perform other related
administrative duties.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Must be able to communicate effectively; able to
do task analysis, manage lab facility and equipment, program/curriculum
development, student advisement and community outreach.  Work independently
and use sound judgment. Class schedules will vary from semester to semester
and may meet in the evenings or weekends. Faculty are responsible to the
Department Chair of Engineering/Industrial Technology to support efforts to
promote and operate at all levels of functions related to the RADCON Program.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Applied Science field (Health
Physics/Radiation Protection, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Engineering or
Engineering Technology) and two years related work/teaching experience; or
Associate's degree, demonstrated competencies in the discipline and two years
experience.  Preferred qualifications include: Bachelor's degree in an
Applied Science field with 15 years direct occupational experience; or
Master's degree in field and 10 years direct occupational experience in
Radiological Control or Health Physics. National Registry of Radiological
Protection Technologists (NRRPT) or Certified Health Physicist (CHP)
certification required, CHP preferred.  Significant procedure or curriculum
development experience, training or teaching background and three years
management experience also preferred.
