LOCATION: Clive, Utah

 

POSITION: Assistant Site Radiation Safety Officer

 

DESCRIPTION:

 

Position reports to the Director of Health Physics and is responsible
for:

 

*        oversight and management of HP Technicians in the
implementation of routine and job specific radiological controls;

*        oversight and maintenance of bioassay and dosimetry programs;

*        maintenance and implementation of radiological procedures; 

*        oversight and tracking air sampling program; 

*        technical analyses; 

*        incoming waste shipment review; 

*        training and qualification programs; 

*        and regulatory compliance.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

Bachelor degree in health physics or equivalent combination of education
and experience and minimum of NRRPT required.  Minimum of ten years
broad experience in health physics/radiological engineering in
commercial nuclear power plant, DOE, waste disposal and/or remediation
settings. ABHP Certification preferred.

 

Working knowledge of current federal and Utah radiation protection
regulations and experience in identifying, evaluating and mitigating
radiation hazards.  Capable of working independently or as part of a
team.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

 

Experience in making presentations to large and small groups and
providing radiation protection training to affected staff. 

 

Computer literacy in Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access,
and PowerPoint.   Experience with HIS-20 is a plus.
