[ RadSafe ] Airport Body Scanners

Dear Doug,

I am really delighted to read your comment.

The USA never have experienced anything that Europeans have during the last
hundred years. No war on their territory, not that terrible "iron curtain".
Vienna is about 60 km away from Bratislave, the capital of Slovakia. In
earlier days (during the monarchy) there was a tram running between the two
cities. After WWII we needed to apply for a visa to go there. Now after the
new rules of the European Union we simply drive across the border without
stopping. The same is true for the Czech Republic, for Poland, for Romania,
Hungary etc etc. Great! We tear down borders within Europe and the USA
creates new ones??? If border control suspects me that I am a Taliban, they
are welcome to search me for concealed weapons. I swim naked on beaches
where it is customary and I can choose to do it, but I would not parade
naked in front of some "scanners" being forced to. Is "Dignity" a word
forgotten and eliminated by the US administration? Again, where is the "land
of the free"?

Be careful. "Safety is the first act of security theater and the
tyrants tool because no one can be against safety." We must be mindful
here on the radiation health physics safety discussion list.

I stand with Clayton. I am also ever mindful of the need to write out
United States of America to differentiate the state from the continent,
and the cultures.
