[ RadSafe ] High School Programs

Steve, two thoughts.

First, the Boy Scouts of America has a merit badge on the subject. If you son is not in BSA, he could still look at the requirements list for the Nuclear Science Merit Badge, and follow up. He can contact me directly if he would like assistance with particular aspects (for example the experiment of growing irradiated beans).

Second, the Nuclear Energy Institute is coordinating training programs with a number of technical colleges around the country. If his interest is more of potential employment options, one of these programs could be a training path.

Hope this helps.

My 17 year old son has recently become interested in radiation. I am
looking for programs or camps that could give him some academic and
practical experience.

Thanks,

Steve
