Since the introduction of USP 797, which applies to the compounding of sterile preparations, many nuc med clinics can not cook their own radio-drugs, because their hot labs do not comply with the reg.

Subject: [ RadSafe ] Unit doses
Not sure how things are done down south, but here in Canada, we use unit dose as
ell. Except that we always order extra pertechnetate and have a supply
vernight and weekends. That way if you get an extra patient or emergency, you
o not wait. Just use your "shake and bake" microsphere or sulphur colloid, or
one imager and away you go. No wait, no hassle.
