Chris,
I thought about responding with something similar, but I wasn't sure about the reg or how
completely it shut down bulk dose preparations. Thanks for the USP reference.
Ever notice that regs always seem to get more restrictive, and not less? Can anyone think of
a recent example of regulatory requirements relaxing? I can't. Its a bit like being on the rack,
slowly and bit by bit, stretched to death.

Since the introduction of USP 797, which applies to the compounding of sterile preparations,
many nuc med clinics can not cook their own radio-drugs, because their hot labs do not
comply with the reg.
Cheers

Subject: [ RadSafe ] Unit doses
Not sure how things are done down south, but here in Canada, we use unit dose as
ell. Except that we always order extra pertechnetate and have a supply
vernight and weekends. That way if you get an extra patient or emergency, you
o not wait. Just use your "shake and bake" microsphere or sulphur colloid, or
one imager and away you go. No wait, no hassle.
