[ RadSafe ] E. Coli

I suggest that we should go "old school" methods like Grandma and Grandpa used
to do when they used chicken manure to fertilize the garden, thoroughly cook the
food before eating.  I eat bean sprouts a least once a week, however they are
either in boiling hot noodle soup or in steamy hot stir fry.  Louis Pasteur
found the answer to the problem over one hundred years ago, heat the food to a
sufficient temperature to kill any bacteria that is present.

Those organizations concerned with our health and safety warned us against
consuming foods grown using deadly chemical fertilizers such as ammoniun nitrate

(also used in explosives). They said we should only eat naturally grown
("organic") foods naturally fertilized with natural fertilizers such a manure
and, I suppose, other animal excrement. These all have some form of E.Coli in
them. So, now what are we to do?

I can only shake my head about the risks that we members of humanity undertake
on a daily basis without giving any thought whatsoever to risk vs. benefit.
Just today I heard on the news that 30 years ago today the first cases of
Pneumocystis pneumonia (PCP) were reported to the US Centers for Disease
Control (CDC).  Since then over 600,000 Americans and 25 million world wide have

died of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).  If only people would give
thought to risk vs. benefit before engaging in risky behavior.
