[ RadSafe ] Thermo EPD Mk2 dosimeter software?

Dan

The setting of the ED to disallow manual operation was intentional, for those customers who do not want such (expectation is that all EPD use will be via a reader, for example those installations that use an Automated Access Control System with sign in kiosks). Again, for you, you will need to find someone who can "unlock" the unit with their software, there is likely SOMEONE on this board who can help you. An alternative is to obtain an infrared reader and the control software that will run on any PC. The reader is expensive from Thermo, it can be built from radioshack parts quite easily. I don't know if there is a charge for the software or not. You can call Customer Service at Thermo and find the name of your area sales rep. We don't use the Thermo (Siemens) product, although I used to have a reader and a couple of the old Mark 1 EPDs in a drawer somewhere. If I can find them, a manual, or anything that might be of help to you, I will contact you later.

Thanks! Unfortunately, I followed the instructions and it seems to be
stuck in the OFF mode. The manual makes mention that this is one of the
ways you can configure the unit (to stay in the OFF position). Seems
like a silly configuration option, but I imagine they do it to conserve
battery life.

So far it looks like I need the software to unlock it. I'm going to
try calling them today to see if they can help me.

Thanks
-Dan

Hi Dan,
I found this manual on google -- do the instructions in it (see about p
10) help you at all?
