Franz has a point. Howard Macabee PhD MD, radiation oncologist and (like myself) a director of Doctors for Disaster Preparedness, presents a study showing deaths more in cold months than hot months in 10? countries. Viva global warming!

They simply died of thirst, because very old people do not drink enough without being "forced" to. This extremely hot summer caused a lack of water in rivers, many powerplants (also conventional ones like in Italy) had to be shut down, because there was to little water for cooling available. Latest since Fukushima we know how important cooling water is!

There were no similar reports from Spain, Greece or Southern Italy though you can believe me that it will every summer get there really hot, easily comparable to Southern Arizona.
