Officials at _Three Mile Island_
(http://www.exeloncorp.com/powerplants/threemileisland/Pages/profile.aspx) said they are monitoring Susquehanna
River levels and flow rates in the wake of impending _flooding_
(http://topics.pennlive.com/tag/flooding/index.html) caused by the remnants of Tropical
Storm Lee. At this time, conditions are well below the margin of anything
that would warrant emergency action at the nuclear plant, said April Schilpp,
a spokeswoman for plant owner Exelon Nuclear.

She said TMI had not reached a flood action level for safety, buildings or
equipment.

“Even the highest forecast we are receiving is well below anything that
would require us to take any kind action,” Schilpp said.

She said the company was also taking precautions for other parts of the
property not related to the operation of the plant.

Three Mile Island, located about 10 miles south of Harrisburg in
Londonderry Twp., is built on an island in the Susquehanna River.

Dear colleagues

I awoke this morning to news that half-million people living in Susquehanna
valley are being evacuated due to flooding. Any word on what this means
for
Susquehanna, TMI and Peach Bottom NPTs? TMI seems particularly vulnerable
considering it's on an island in the middle of the river, not to mention
its
previous notoriety.
