Hi Franz,
While there may be some exageration of the capabilities, this is not fiction, itsRaman Spectroscopy. A very powerfulltool.
12 years ago would you have belived that backscatter x-ray or microwave imaging would be routine at US airports?

Roy and RADSAFErs,

I read the link and I did not know, whether I should laugh, cry or scream. The only possible reasonable explanations for this article would be, that it is a funny hoax to ridicule the DHS or in line with such journals like "MAD". I know from many US collegues a lot of funny stories about the DHS like ordering and distributing electroninc counting equipment but no detectors.

All this is so absurd, that I wonder how any scientist can even think for a millisecond that it might be fact. It is worse than 5 000 Greenpeace press releases on whatever topics.

I would be very disappointed about the scientific level among RADSAFE contibutors, if even a single RADSAFEr would give this article a 1% credibility.
