RC models are fun but too small for serious loads and have small range as you mentioned.
Russia is going crazy trying to regulate drones. They got Chechen problem.....
I am sure here in the US will be similar attempts.
"Delta Drone" can take about 400 killos, range depends on fuel tank capacity. Fully automatic flight controlled by pre-programmed software in on-board computer, GPS and laser Gyro system. Attachments? Well lets say the sky is the limit. LOL
So it is NOT such "Low" tech Delta Drone. It is very comparable with something in between USAF Predator and Global Hawk in terms of loads and ranges.
But Delta Drone costs DIRT CHEAP under $1500 US.
Predator $100's thousands,
Global Hawk costs millions of dollars. Goverment contractors i.e., Boeing stockholders also need something to eat, right? LOL
Interesting, do you know that in Afghanistan USA and coalition has 600 bases and they are ALL supplied by Drones!!! Afghanistan is probably the highest "High Tech Country on Earth! It is like 22nd century flying robots everywhere.

RC models are a lot cheaper and more fun to watch -- though they don't have our military range. Go fly 'em from the nearest tall building -- circle your local city hall for 15 minutes -- might cause them to think a bit more; especially if this happened widely across the country. <g> "course the danger is that Congress will outlaw model airplanes and you will wind up in the local jug. ...sigh

i think, it is cheaper and less hassles for Iran just close Bushehr, stop centrifuges and buy weapons from North Koreans. At least there will not any concerns about Bushehr's earthquake safety issues. LOL.

There could be a new Grand Opening of Nuclear Walmart on the Korean Peninsula......
That is why Iran soften its position.
The last one: Peaceful Atom came into every home? Answer: Chernobyl.
By the way, there is a Grand Opening of Delta Drones Walmart in the Central Asia prices starts under $1500 US.
