UNSCEAR 2008 Annex-D has some info on forests & trees, though not directly
addressing the tree ring issue.

The photo shows a distinct change of colour which as I get it matches the
accident date.
But it looks very distinct. I wonder how did they determine the cause was
radiation and not some chemistry thing, perhaps/probably also related to the
accident.
