Thanks Franz :-)
Fortunately (or maybe unfortunately, not quite sure) analysis will be done by a third party, so info is needed to verify best practice/QA.
I will let you know about the Radiometric One Stop Shop Technique after you let me know about the hand-held detector that does the same!
Mike

Mike, yes there are tons of literature on radiochemical and analytical techniques for radionuclides, both natural and man-made ones. Choose the ones you are interested in and look them up on the internet.
HASL had been useful in my work on Sr-90 - but this was about four decades ago. Be aware that analytical methods have changed since that time!!!!!!
Maybe you find out, which radionuclides you really are interested in, if you find some wizard who is able to give you in one analysis the concentration of all man-made and natural radioactivity I would recommend you to patent this method.
Best regards,
Franz

Is there such a thing as a tome of radiochemistry/analytical techniques for generic assessment of environmental samples? Looking at things such as seawater, sediments, marine biota?
Looking at trying to establish baseline levels of radioactivity, input sources would be both man-made and potential enhanced natural radioactivity from industrial processes.
Mike
