Joe/Radsafe:

The book Experimental Foundations of Particle Physics (the newest
version) has a few new chapters
on Cosmic Radiation and neutrino physics (by Goldhaber and another guy).
The COBE (Cosmic Background Explorer) website at Goddard Space Flight
Center (NASA GSFC) may also be of interest.

Information on the Plastic Scintillator detector (for 20 MeV to 400
MeV neutrons) is described in Patterson and Thomas's Accelerator Health
Physics book (in the experiments at the end of the book).

    Have Fun!!!!! Joe Preisig

I may have a need to measure cosmic radiation. I would like to use a TEPC
(Tissue Equivalent Proportional Counter, generally a spherical counter of
A-150 tissue equivalent plastic with an organic counting gas) for the
measurement. I think Far West Technology had these types of instruments
(model 1010 comes to mind). Do you know if there is one somewhere that I
can rent for a month or so?
