Laser Induced Inertial fusion - Hmmmmm.  All of the LLNL National 
Ignition Facility - including the lasers - in a jet engine!!??

Yes - this may be a bit ahead of the times.

But then an LBL researcher is very close to reproducing SLAC on a 
desktop!!  Using lasers of course - what else these days.

I've heard of "getting a jump on things" but to actually get a patent on 
technology that doesn't even exist yet.

I'm not so much surprised that someone might apply - but that the patent 
office would approve.....

I guess the strategy is to patent whatever wild dream you might have and 
then when someone works very hard and applies their genius to invent it 
- its yours!!

I guess I'll submit my patent for time travel!
