Re: "New Yorker" story on Paducah
It would be pointless to discuss this article without having read it. I'm sure
that "The New Yorker" is available at your local public library.
"The real problem" for all of us is the public's loss of confidence in nuclear
technology. A recent implication of this was the decision to close the HFBR.
Whether or not you agree with the wisdom of this decision, it's "real," and it
is worse than useless to play the victim. Articles such as this are the
symptom, not the cause of "the real problem," and should be read with this in
mind.
Like it or not, we must live with political decisions. The politicians live by
2 rules:
1. The voter is always right.
2. Don't forget rule #1.
We must also learn to live by these rules.
