So true. One of my better high school practical jokes involved
stuffing some metallic potassium up in the holes under the rim of a
toilet in the girl's bathroom. As I received my punishment for
causing a girl to come screaming out of the bathroom with her
panties around one ankle and smoke billowing out from under her
dress, not a soul involved EVER tried to blame the potassium. Or
the school. I got the 47 bazillion demerit hours, a whipping at
school and another at home. The potassium and the school remained
unmolested and blameless. My how time changes things. Today, I'd
be tried as a felony bomber, the school would be sued into oblivion
and they'd probably also prosecute the manufacturer of the potassium
even though the stuff was 40 years old at the time. Sad, very sad.
Oh... Maybe you blame the metal only when it constitutes a gun or
something radioactive. Must be age. Just can't seem to get this PC
stuff correct anymore.
