        As a first cut at this subject, go to a good library and check out the following (out-of-print) book, co-authored by the late Wade Patterson:  "Handling Radiation Emergencies," R. G. Purington & H. W. Patterson, published by the National Fire Protection Association, ISBN 0-87765-089-6; NFPA Publication No. SPP-4A; 1977.
