Re: Transfer of Radioactive Material to another institution
At our facility, we do not permit the transfer of any radioactive material
by personal auto. In the event of an auto accident, the probability exists
that the integrity of the source could be compromised, thus potentially
contaminating the autos involved, the occupants, the accident scene,
emergency workers (if applicable), etc. I would also suspect that there
could be ramifications from local and State government agencies as well
(not to mention the NRC).

Hello! can anybody tell me if there is a minimum amount of material that
can be transported via personal auto. That is does the regulations provide
for an exempt amount for transport. I have a professor asking about
tranferring less than 10 uCi of P-32 to another institution in his car.
