RE: DOE Cites Argonne LabSubcontractor for Nuclear Safety Violati

Oh, but you didn't. Regardless, there isn't anything that you said
that is detrimental to anyone. No need to worry (except from your
NRC inspector) :>

I am all in favor of telling those who work for me, and others whom I
associate with, that they are doing a good job. I believe in the
concept of praise. I am a firm believe in the MBWA (Management
By Walking Around) principle as well. Mingling with the lower level
employees demonstrates interest in what they are doing. I am only
against special programs that end up as the end and not the
means to get there. Results orientation needs to be a goal of any
organization.

Praise when one does well, and discipline (without retribution)
when they don't is what I believe in. A good manager must do both
to succeed, and to ensure that they have a well-run organization
below them.

My comments were directed towards special programs, such as
"suggestion programs."

In conclusion, I agree with your concepts. I just don't want to see
the concepts becoming the end, and not the means.

Regards ... and, Happy Easter to all Radsafers!
