Scott,

You've raised a good question here, and one I can't fully answer.
My understanding is that they will take baby teeth from 1970 on up. As to
where the teeth are coming from, yes I guess you could say that we'd have to
trust that people were filling out forms honestly. Hopefully there's some
error factor built in for that, I don't know.

Similarly I guess would be political polls - how can they trust that people
aren't lying thru their
teeth (so to speak) to the pollsters.
